Choking Out the Flare-Ups
Rendering the Enemy Powerless to Protect Your Blessings
The Word: "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." — Luke 10:19
As an Executive Pitmaster, you know the exact moment a grease fire flares up in the smoker. It’s sudden, it’s destructive, and if left unchecked, it will completely ruin the beautiful bark and flavor you’ve worked so hard to build. That flare-up doesn't want your cook to be a success; it wants your meat charred, bitter, and ruined. But a pro doesn't panic or feed the fire. You shut the lid, close down the dampers, and cut off the oxygen. You render that destructive flame entirely powerless by starving it.
The enemy operates the exact same way. Satan does not want to see you living in your God-given purpose, enjoying your prosperity, or walking in the blessings God has declared over your life. He throws spiritual flare-ups—distractions, lies, and sudden hardships—hoping to see you miserable, suffering, and in pain. But you have the authority to shut down his tactics. Don't listen to his whispers or fall for his tricks. When the enemy tries to ruin your season, you must cut off his oxygen by refusing to entertain his lies. Lean into the Word, stand on your authority, and render the enemy powerless. He cannot consume what God has already blessed.
