Every Grand Champion started somewhere. For Wood Family Q, that journey begins now.

After years of refining our flavor profiles in the backyard, we are officially taking our show on the road. The 2026 season marks our rookie debut on the competition BBQ circuit. We aren't just going to cook; we are going to learn, to compete, and to chase that perfect score.

We are trading our weekends for wake-up calls at 3:00 AM. We are trading comfort for smoke. And we are taking you with us.

July 4, 2026 – Freedom Flame Festival BBQ Competition (Pineview, GA)


Wood Family Q traveled to Pineview Community Park for the inaugural Freedom Flame Festival BBQ Showdown. Competing in a hybrid format that required teams to submit blind judging boxes while simultaneously serving the public, our pit crew secured the highest overall point total of the day.

 

We are proud to stand as the event's Inaugural Grand Champions among a highly competitive field of regional teams.

Wood Family Q has officially accepted an invitation from Freedom Flame Events LLC to return to Pineview in April 2027 to defend the title.

 

August 1st – 2nd Annual Phatz Man Cave Chicken Bog Cook-off (Darlington, SC)



Wood Family Q traveled to the 2nd Annual Phatz Man Cave Chicken Bog Cookoff to compete against a talented field of cooks. Going head-to-head in a highly competitive arena, our pit crew brought their A-game and secured a 3rd Place overall finish with our signature flavors.
